The Training
FOSS GIS Sahana Training is InWEnt-IOSN's Training of Trainers on Free/Open Source Software-based Geographic Information Systems with Sahana in Indonesia in cooperation with The State Ministry for Research and Technology (RISTEK), Republic of Indonesia. Held in Ristek's BPPT Building 23rd Floor, Jakarta 24-28 March 2008.

Day 1
FOSS Introduction
After short opening ceremony by Dr.Ir.Engkos Koswara and Mr.Kemal Prihatman from The State Ministry of Research & Technology and training's overview by dr.Francis from IOSN, the training started with the introduction to Free and/or Open Source Software. (Download presentations)
FOSS Disaster Managment System (Sahana) Introduction

FOSS GIS Overview
A Geographic Information System (GIS), also known as a geographical information system or geospatial information system, is any system for capturing, storing, analyzing and managing data and associated attributes which are spatially referenced to earth. On this training we'll learn how to use FOSS based GIS tools were utilized to support FOSS based DMS (disaster management system).Step 0: Preparing The Data

Step 6: Creating GRASS Database Part 2 (PostgreSQL)
Step 7: The Scenario, GRASS Database for Mentawai
- Importing Raster
